Standard Gas Mixture Production Based on the Diffusion Method

International Journal of Environmental Analytical Chemistry, 1990
Abstract The vapour diffusion behaviour through glass capillary tubes was studied aiming at the production of a standard composition gas mixture. The diffusion rates were quantified by means of gravimetric measurements, taking into account the various problems inherent in the glass material weighing. Some parameters of the well-known diffusion equation

A New Method for Measuring the Diffusion Coefficient in a Gas Phase

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2006
A new and fast method for measuring the diffusion coefficients of binary gas mixtures using ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) has been developed. In this method, the sample is injected as a short pulse into the flowing drift gas, forming a Gaussian concentration profile inside the drift region.

A field method for measurement of gas diffusion into soils

Australian Journal of Soil Research, 1964
A transient method for field measurement of gas diffusion into soil is presented. The theory of the method and the results of preliminary tests are given. Diffusion takes place from a reservoir mounted on a tube driven into the soil. The theoretical analysis is used in the design of the experimental method, the relative importance of the various ...

Measurements of diffusion coefficients by the method of gas chromatography

Journal of Chromatography A, 1972
Abstract Experimental diffusivities have been obtained for several gas-gas, gas-liquid vapor and gas-solid vapor systems, using the method of gas chromatography. On the basis of the experimental results, a generalized semi-empirical equation has been developed to predict the diffusivity of binary systems as a function of pressure and temperature.

Application of the diffusion method for preparing test gas mixtures

Measurement Techniques, 1968
1. Diffusion dispensers can be used in producing testing instruments for obtaining given vapor concentrations in air. It is advantageous to use a dispenser with a porous membrane, thus making it possible to cover the entire range of concentrations required for testing working instruments.
