A Zonal Calculation Method for Axial Gas Turbine Diffusers

Volume 6B: Turbomachinery, 2013
The axial exhaust downstream of a gas turbine in a combined cycle plant includes an annular diffuser with struts and a closed hub carrying the turbine rotor bearing. Flow separation occurs at the blunt end of the hub and can also occur on the casing wall and on the struts. A zonal method for the computation of the flow in such diffusers is described. A

A Modified Method for the In Situ Measurement of Soil Gas Diffusivity

Soil Science Society of America Journal, 2011
Gas diffusion coefficients are of importance for the calculation of gas fluxes in soils. Since many aspects of soil gas fluxes are affected by scale variability of soil properties, diffusion coefficients should be measured in situ and preferably for a large volume. In the present study, we modified the method of McIntyre and Philip.

A method of resolving streaming and diffuse components of gas flow

Vacuum, 1968
Abstract Streaming and randomized flows of molecules entering a gauge envelope can be separated by the use of a time resolved flow and detection system. This paper describes such a system and the results obtained.

Further Development and Studies of Gas Methods in Matrix Diffusion

MRS Proceedings, 1993
ABSTRACTThe present status of the recently introduced gas method equipment for migration studies of fractured and porous media is briefly reviewed together with advances in the experimental techniques. The conditions under which matrix diffusion can be observed in both gas flow and water flow experiments are discussed in some detail.

A diffusion method for determining sizes of nanoparticles suspended in a gas

Colloid Journal, 2013
The diffusion deposition of particles suspended in a gas in diffusion batteries composed of cylindrical fibers is considered. It is assumed that the particle-size spectrum is described by a lognormal distribution. It is shown in the asymptotic approximation that the dependences of the penetration coefficients on the diffusion battery parameters and ...
