Diffusion of impurities in a granular gas

open access: yes, 2003
Diffusion of impurities in a granular gas undergoing homogeneous cooling state is studied. The results are obtained by solving the Boltzmann--Lorentz equation by means of the Chapman--Enskog method.

Pressure Fluctuations in Natural Gas Networks caused by Gas-Electric Coupling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The development of hydraulic fracturing technology has dramatically increased the supply and lowered the cost of natural gas in the United States, driving an expansion of natural gas-fired generation capacity in several electrical inter-connections.

The Role of Invasive Procedures in the Treatment of Complicated Gastrointestinal Graft‐Versus‐Host Disease in Pediatric Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Gastrointestinal graft‐versus‐host disease (GI GVHD) following hematopoietic stem cell transplant is typically managed with medical therapy, but surgery and angioembolization may be warranted in selected cases with life‐threatening complications.

A method for measuring surface diffusion coefficient of coal-adsorbed gas using a differential pressure permeation method

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
The surface diffusion behavior of coal-adsorbed gas is difficult to measure and quantitatively characterize, which has always been a problem or difficulty in the study of the migration law of coalbed methane (coal mine gas).

Development of Methods of Gas Flow Computation in Short Diffusers

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2015
AbstractThe paper suggests numerical and experimental computation methods of gas flow in short diffusers. The results of numerical investigations, carried out in ANSYS CFX for thirteen variants of turbulence, as well as experimental results are presented. For turbulence model k-ω, good repeatability of experimental data is obtained.

Thoriated nickel bonded by solid-state diffusion method [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
Solid-state diffusion bonding in an inert-gas atmosphere forms high-strength joints between butting or overlapping surfaces of thoriated nickel.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

A Novel Time Lag Method for the Analysis of Mixed Gas Diffusion in Polymeric Membranes by On-Line Mass Spectrometry: Pressure Dependence of Transport Parameters

open access: yesMembranes, 2018
This paper presents a novel method for transient and steady state mixed gas permeation measurements, using a quadrupole residual gas analyser for the on-line determination of the permeate composition.

Star-triangle equivalence in soap froths

open access: yes, 2003
In two dimensional foams at equilibrium, triangular bubbles can be freely exchanged with 3-fold stars --three edges ending at a central vertex. This theorem is deduced here from Moukarzel's duality. Moreover, to probe the method, a few related properties

Renormalized mean-field theory for a two-component Fermi gas with s-wave interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A method is introduced to renormalize the zero-range interaction for use in mean-field and many-body theory, starting from two-body calculations. The density-renormalized delta-function interaction is then applied using mean-field theory to a two ...
