Temperature Effects on the Gas Hold-up in Agitated Vessels [PDF]
Previous work found the gas hold-up in a tall, 0.15 m3 vessel, agitated by three impellers, to decrease considerably with temperature. This was attributed to a decrease in liquid viscosity, a decrease in surface tension or a decrease in gas density. The aim of this work was to investigate the influence of gas density on the gas hold-up.

Gas hold-up in a three-phase reciprocating plate column [PDF]
The influence of the geometry of a reciprocating plate column (diameter), superficial gas velocity, vibration intensity and content of the solid phase in the column on the gas hold-up in a three phase column (G–L–S) were investigated in this study.

Gas hold-up distribution and mixing time in gas–liquid stirred tanks [PDF]
Abstract In this work, the gas–liquid dispersion in a stirred tank equipped with different impellers is investigated by Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT). The main goal of the study is to provide detailed information on the spatial distribution of the gas phase and on the effect of bubbles on the liquid homogenisation dynamics.

Gas Hold-Up and Mass Transfer in a Vessel with an Unsteady Rotating Concave Blade Impeller
The steady mixing of gas-liquid systems is used where a large development of the interfacial area is required. However, the presence of gas in the liquid reduces the efficiency of mass transfer by reducing the mixing power, due to the creation of gas ...
