Gas holdup in a 32 cm bubble column

2020
Air-water-fiber flows are found in the pulp and paper industry in a variety of unit operations such as flotation deinking of recycled paper and fiber bleaching. Vertical bubble column reactors are often used for these operations due to low cost, ease of operation, and high interfacial areas.

Gas Holdup Characteristics in a Tapered Bubble Column

International Journal of Chemical Reactor Engineering, 2003
Gas holdup characteristics were explored experimentally in a tapered bubble column of 3.00m height. The internal diameter increased from 0.10 m at the bottom to 0.20 m at the top. Two gas holdup characteristic parameters investigated were local gas holdup and overall gas holdup.

An Experimental Analysis Of Fission-Gas Holdup Beds

Nuclear Applications and Technology, 1970
Exact equations for the experimental analysis of fission-gas holdup beds are developed by the method of statistical moments. The mean retention time, given by the first moment, is independent of the factors which affect mass transfer. This independence emphasizes the important fact, sometimes overlooked in the analysis of fission-gas holdup beds, that ...

Innovation and Regulatory Holdup: The Case of Shale Gas

2017
The shale gas industry is at the crossroads. The current regulatory frameworks have not lived up to expectations as the recent experiences in Europe (France) and North America (Quebec) demonstrate. Although the patterns of regulation and the approaches used in both continents are, in some respects, similar, still some important differences do exist. To
