Phosphorus Partition in an Industrial Basic Oxygen Furnace Process in Ukraine

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Phosphorus partition data from Ukrainian steel plants are analyzed, focusing on parameters like basicity, optical basicity, tapping temperature, and slag contents of FeO, MgO, and Al2O3. The analysis shows that phosphorus partition decreases with higher tapping temperatures and increases with optical basicity.

Recycling‐Induced Copper Contamination of a 42CrMo4 Quench and Tempering Steel—Scaling and Susceptibility to Hot Shortness

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
In this study, the susceptibility to copper‐induced hot shortness of the alloy 42CrMo4 is investigated by different hot tensile tests, as well as by a detailed analysis of the formed oxidation products. While an enrichment of metallic copper and a penetration of the grain boundaries are observed, no critical reduction of the tensile test properties can

Corrosion Behavior of Additively Manufactured Steels: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This review explores the corrosion behavior of various steel types, including austenitic, martensitic, duplex, low‐alloy, and maraging steels, produced via additive manufacturing (AM). It discusses how AM impacts material properties, such as grain structure and the formation of defects like porosity, and highlights the importance of optimizing process ...

Use of audible sound for on-line monitoring of gas metal arc welding process [PDF]

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2008
In this paper sound generated during the gas-metal arc welding process was studded. Experimental analyses of the acoustic signals have shown that there are two main noise-generating mechanisms, first having impulse form is arc extinction and arc ignition;
