A Novel Approach to Characterize the Lipidome of Marine Archaeon Nitrosopumilus maritimus by Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2021
Archaea are differentiated from the other two domains of life by their biomolecular characteristics. One such characteristic is the unique structure and composition of their lipids.

Isomer separation and gas-phase configurations of organoruthenium anticancer complexes: Ion mobility mass spectrometry and modeling [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, 2009
We have used ion mobility-mass spectrometry combined with molecular modeling for the separation and configurational analysis of three low-molecular-weight isomeric organoruthenium anticancer complexes containing ortho-, meta-, or para-terphenyl arene ligands.

Performance of a corona ion source for measurement of sulfuric acid by chemical ionization mass spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The performance of an ion source based on corona discharge has been studied. This source is used for the detection of gaseous sulfuric acid by chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CIMS) through the reaction of NO−3 ions with H2SO4.

Invisible but not inaccessible—Revealing transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins with solution NMR and complementary methods

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins may be ‘invisible’ to direct detection yet remain accessible to solution NMR through equilibrium‐exchange measurements and pressure‐jump experiments. Complementary methods report on mass, stoichiometry, selected distance distributions, morphology, and internal packing.

Extracellular matrix remodeling and immune reprogramming drive residual tumor progression of liver cancer after incomplete microwave ablation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Incomplete microwave ablation (iMWA) of liver cancer triggers a biphasic progression in residual tumors. At Day 3, the microenvironment is characterized by acute inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. By Day 14, a profound shift occurs toward oncogenic signal transduction and immunosuppression, marked by macrophage ...

An Ion Mobility-Mass Spectrometry Imaging Workflow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) is a powerful technique for the label-free spatially-resolved analysis of biological tissues. Coupling ion mobility (IM) separation with MSI allows separation of isobars in the mobility dimension and increases confidence ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.
