FastNano Liquid: An Automated Platform for Small‐Angle X‐ray Scattering‐Based Materials Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present FastNano Liquid, an automated small‐ and wide‐angle X‐ray scattering platform for the combined synthesis and characterization of (nano)materials. The platform is coupled to varied reactor workflows for both in situ studies of reaction kinetics and ex situ screening of synthesis conditions to support machine learning‐guided exploration ...

Cryogenic Deformation Behavior of TiAl and Insights Into Embrittlement After High‐Temperature Exposure Combined With Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy of Near Surface Chemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Near‐surface deuterium enrichment profiles for different microstructural types of TiAl after exposure at 700 °C in a heavy water‐containing environment. The deuterium levels are significantly higher than expected from natural occurrence, indicating that the heavy water dissociated during the exposure treatment and entered the specimens.

Flavor and sensory profile of Chinese traditional fish noodles produced by different silver carp (hypophthalmichthys molitrix) mince ingredients

open access: yesFood Chemistry: X, 2023
This study employs sensory evaluation, headspace gas chromatography–ion mobility spectrometry (HS-GC-IMS), and headspace solid-phase microextraction gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS) techniques to investigate the effect of different ...

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Ion mobility spectrometry–mass spectrometry (IMS–MS) for on- and offline analysis of atmospheric gas and aerosol species [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2016
Measurement techniques that provide molecular-level information are needed to elucidate the multiphase processes that produce secondary organic aerosol (SOA) species in the atmosphere. Here we demonstrate the application of ion mobility spectrometry-mass

Potential volatile markers of brown rice infested by the rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae (L.) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)

open access: yesFood Chemistry: X, 2023
The rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae (L.) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) could cause significant grain loss by feeding internally on seeds. In this study, we tried to analyze the volatile compounds in non-infested and S.

Characterization of the Impact of Drug Metabolism on the Gas-Phase Structures of Drugs Using Ion Mobility-Mass Spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yesAnalytical Chemistry, 2019
Conventional strategies for drug metabolite identification employ a combination of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), which offers higher throughput but provides limited structural information, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, which can achieves the most definitive identification but lacks throughput.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Micro Ion Mobility Spectrometry for Gas-phase Detection

open access: yes, 2014
In an ideal world, we might be able to rapidly detect and classify any type of chemical and biological that is found in low concentrations, using instruments of small size and easy implementation. Is in that scenario where the Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) appeared.

Bio‐Derived Polyelectrolyte Additive–Induced Interfacial Ion‐Diffusion Barriers for Nonvolatile Organic Artificial Synapses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sodium alginate regulates interfacial ion transport and retention in electrolyte‐gated synaptic transistors. The carboxylate‐rich polymeric network forms a dynamic interfacial ion‐diffusion barrier that facilitates ion injection during programming while suppressing ion back‐diffusion, thereby stabilizing the electrochemically doped channel state.
