Modelling of transient gas-liquid flow and pigging in pipes [PDF]
More and more transient gas-liquid operations in pipes are being successfully applied in the oil and gas industry. Pigging in two-phase pipelines, to remove liquid accumulation or for cleaning purposes, is an important transient operation.

Field tests of CO2 huff-n-puff technology in Nanchuan normal-pressure shale gas field
Due to the high proportion of adsorbed methane and weak formation energy, the recovery rate of normal-pressure shale gas reservoirs is generally less than 30%.

A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Storage and Competition in gas market [PDF]
n order to analyze competition in gas markets, an intermediate activity of storage is included in a classical model of vertical relations. In that case, firms can inject or withdraw strategically natural gas resource.

New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Practical gas emission control during landfilling. [PDF]
Whilst the major emphasis on landfill gas control has previously related to postcompletion of landfill cells or phases rather than that during active waste placement, increasing need for odour control has changed that pattern of ad hoc capping and gas ...

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Risk-based Reliability Assessment of Subsea Control module for Offshore Oil and Gas production [PDF]
Offshore oil and gas exploitation is principally conducted using dry or wet tree systems, otherwise called the subsea Xmas tree system. Due to the shift to deeper waters, subsea production system (SPS) has come to be a preferred technology with ...
