Optimizing Gas Storage Reservoir Performance

Proceedings of SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1994
ABSTRACT As gas storage becomes increasingly important in managing the nation’s gas supplies, there is a need to develop more gas storage reservoirs and to manage them more efficiently. Using computer reservoir simulation to predict gas storage reservoir performance, we present specific procedures for optimization of gas storage ...

Natural-Gas Storage

Transactions of the AIME, 1919
The question of natural-gas supply is receiving careful consideration inmany parts of the country, as in the winter months it is quite a problem tohave on hand sufficient gas to satisfy the demand. Increasing the output ofwells by the application of vacuum has been tried with various results andlarge companies have attempted to keep up the supply with ...

Underground Gas Storage in Partially Depleted Gas Reservoir

Canadian International Petroleum Conference, 2007
Abstract Main objective of this study is dealing with a real case study of an Iranian gas condensate reservoir for the purpose of underground gas storage. Doing such a study in this reservoir will aid developing this technology and also demonstrates new concept of underground gas storage in partially depleted gas ...

Acidizing Gas Storage Wells

SPE Eastern Regional Meeting, 1997
Abstract Acidizing has typically been one of the most popular techniques used for the removal of damage in gas storage wells. Acidizing is often useful for carbonates, but surveys have indicated that as many as 30% of the sandstone wells were adversely affected by the use of acids.

Gas Storage Hedging

2012
Gas storage hedging based on conditional delta is presented in this paper. Algorithms to calculate hedging strategies are detailed. Some numerical results for fast and seasonal storages show the efficiency of the method compared with finite difference.

Monitoring Gas Storage Reservoirs

Proceedings of SPE Midwest Oil and Gas Industry Symposium, 1971
Abstract Monitoring procedures used in underground gas storage operations are reviewed. Besides bringing together the many techniques now used, methods are presented for systematizing the monitoring process. Introduction The underground storage of ...

Gas Well Testing - Storage

Fall Meeting of the Society of Petroleum Engineers of AIME, 1964
Abstract The usual back pressure tests or inflow tests during gas injection are needed to understand gas well flow capacities. Such individual well capacities are combined into composite field deliverability curves for predicting the flowing well head pressure during heavy gas withdrawal periods.
