Influence of activating fluxes on metallurgical characterizations in welding process for steels - a review

open access: yesMetalurgija
Activating fluxes can be used in welding processes like gas metal arc welding (GMAW) or tungsten inert gas welding (TIG) to improve the welding outcomes, as they can affect mechanical properties and microstructure as well as weld bead geometry, depth of ...

Review of Arc Efficiency Values for Gas Tungsten Arc Welding

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of this study was to review the literature that specifies arc efficiency values for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and, if possible, propose a plausible value range. The literature review covered the years between 1955 and 2011, and showed that the arc efficiency values published lie in a wide range. Values between 0.36 and 0.90 were found for

Visualization of gas tungsten arc weld pools.

open access: yes, 1991
Surface flow visualization of Gas Tungsten Arc weld pools for HY-80 steel is presented using a pulsed laser light source and a conventional night-vision image-intensif ier tube equipped video camera. Visualization of the weld pool free surface is made possible by seeding the flow with alumina particles for both stationary and moving arc welds.
