Biofiltration of gasoline and ethanol-amended gasoline vapors

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part A, 2012
Assuming the projected increase in use of ethanol as a biofuel, the current study was conducted to compare the biofiltration efficiencies for plain and 25% ethanol-containing gasoline. Two biofilters were operated in a downflow mode for 7 months, one of them being compost-based whereas the other using a synthetic packing material, granulated tire ...

The Changes of Gasoline Compounds in Blood in a Case of Gasoline Intoxication

Journal of Toxicology: Clinical Toxicology, 1992
A 44 year-old man, found in his gasoline vapor filled car, died of multiple organ failure on d 9. Blood samples from d 2-7 were analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The estimated half-lives of gasoline, toluene, ethylbenzene, m,p-xylene, and o-xylene were 16.9, 21.4, 27.5, 32.8, and 25.8 h respectively.
