JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1942Early in the war Willcox1reported that, of 41 soldiers evacuated from France and complaining of dyspepsia, 19 had duodenal ulcers and 7 had gastric ulcers. He expressed the belief that the ulcer had existed in most cases prior to enlistment and that conditions in the service had caused a relapse.

Khirurgiia, 1996Gastric juice acidity was examined in 131 patients with gastric ulcer. In 31 (23.7%) patients it appeared to be high, in 57 (43.5%)-normal, in 42 (32.8%)-low.
