Injectio Gastrodia elata showed sedative effect on central nervous system with decrease of spontaneous motor activity and a prolonged pentobarbital sleeping time in mice. After administration of injectio Gastrodia, mice were found to be more resistant to hypoxia and nutrient blood flow in cardiac muscle of mice was markedly increased.

In this study, the hepatoprotective effect of gastrodin against alcohol-induced liver injury in mice was examined. Mice with alcohol-induced hepatotoxicity were treated intragastrically with gastrodin (50, 80, or 100 mg/kg).

[Preparation and stability investigation of gastrodin dispersible tablets].
Zhong yao cai = Zhongyaocai = Journal of Chinese medicinal materials, 2007To prepare and optimize the gastrodin dispersible tablets by orthogonal design using the disintegration time as index.
