Porcine angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 serves as an auxiliary receptor to enhance transmissible gastroenteritis virus invasion and replication.

Veterinary Microbiology
Transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) is one of the major pathogen causing swine diarrhea, inducing acute severe atrophic enteritis and lethal watery diarrhea in neonatal piglets with up to 100 % mortality, resulting in significant economic losses ...

Leukocyte-Aggregation Assay for Transmissible Gastroenteritis of Swine

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1976
SUMMARY An in vitro leukocyte-aggregation assay was developed to detect the exposure of swine to transmissible gastroenteritis virus. Leukocytes in heparinized blood samples aggregated when mixed with test antigen prepared from transmissible gastroenteritis-infected swine testicle cell cultures.

Genome-wide CRISPR screen identifies ALG5, ALG6, NF2, and FUT8 as key host proteins involved in transmissible gastroenteritis virus infection.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
Transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) represents a significant threat to global swine production. In the absence of effective antiviral therapies, control relies primarily on vaccination.

Transmissible Gastroenteritis in Feeder Swine: Role of Feeder Swine in the Epizootiologic Features

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1974
SUMMARY Thirty-two feeder swine 4 to 6 months old were orally given transmissible gastroenteritis (tge) virus. During the next 60 days, the pigs were killed for necropsy. Jejunal and rectal contents from each feeder swine were fed, separately, to newborn pigs.

Isolation of Transmissible Gastroenteritis Virus from Lungs of Market-Weight Swine

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1974
SUMMARY Transmissible gastroenteritis (tge) virus was isolated from lungs of market-weight swine which had gross pulmonary lesions similar to those associated with mycoplasmal pneumonia. The tge isolate was neutralized by anti-tge serum. Pulmonary tissue from infected pigs had positive fluorescence when stained with anti-tge conjugate.

Development of a triplex RT-RAA-LFA assay for the rapid differential diagnosis of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, porcine deltacoronavirus and transmissible gastroenteritis virus.

Microbial Pathogenesis
Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) and transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) are three clinically common coronaviruses causing diarrhea in pigs, with indistinguishable clinical signs and pathological changes ...

Transmissible gastroenteritis of swine in Ontario.

Canadian journal of comparative medicine : Revue canadienne de medecine comparee, 1969
An investigation of field outbreaks of transmissible gastroenteritis occurring in Ontario in 1967 and 1968 is described. Bacteria-free intestinal filtrates obtained from these outbreaks produced a clinical syndrome in pigs infected per os identical to that seen in field cases.

Secretory Antibodies in Milk of Swine Against Transmissible Gastroenteritis Virus

1974
Transmissible gastroenteritis (TGE) of swine is a highly contagious, enteric, viral disease characterized by severe diarrhea and high mortality in pigs under 2 weeks of age. TGE virus primarily infects the epithelial cells of the small intestine, resulting in an atrophy of the villi and a mal absorption syndrome (1).

Husbandry Practices, Biosecurity Measures of Pig Farmers and Their Awareness of Transmissible Gastroenteritis in Kwara and Oyo States, Nigeria

Folia Veterinaria
Transmissible gastroenteritis (TGE) is a highly contagious enteric viral disease of swine with serious implications for pig health and productivity. However, data on its occurrence and impact in Nigeria remain scarce.

Nanopore direct RNA sequencing reveals transmissible gastroenteritis virus epitranscriptomic and transcriptomic landscapes modulated by gene 7

Microbial Genomics
Viral non-structural proteins are key mediators of host–virus interplay, including RNA modification dynamics. The function of the transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) gene 7, which encodes a non-structural protein, remains poorly understood.
