Secondary aortoduodenal fistula most commonly involves the third portion of the duodenum and requires definitive management of both vascular and gastrointestinal components. We demonstrate a step‐by‐step technique for radical duodenal resection and reconstruction performed in structured collaboration with cardiovascular surgeons.

European multicentre study on outcome of surgery for sporadic primary hyperparathyroidism

Some 5861 patients undergoing first‐time surgery for sporadic primary hyperparathyroidism were registered in the Eurocrine® database between 2015 and 2018. The use of intraoperative parathyroid hormone measurement decreased the risk of conversion and persistent hypercalcaemia.

Carcinoembryonic Antigen Messenger RNA in Pelvic Lavage Fluid Predicts Local Recurrence After Curative‐Intent Resection of Rectal Cancer

Pelvic lavage carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) mRNA was quantified in 178 patients undergoing curative‐intent resection for rectal cancer. Positive pelvic lavage CEA mRNA was significantly associated with local recurrence and provided additional prognostic information beyond circumferential resection margin (CRM) status.
