Enhanced Epithelial Cell Uptake of Glycol Chitosan‐Coated PLGA Nanoparticles for Oral Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Here, glycol chitosan (GC)‐coated PLGA NPs are developed to enhance oral drug delivery by enabling dual‐pathway endocytosis via clathrin‐ and caveolae‐mediated mechanisms. Alginate layering coating on GC‐PLGA further improves oral insulin delivery, achieving sustained glucose reduction in diabetic mice.

Deep Learning Approach to Predict Hemorrhage in Moyamoya Disease [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Objective: Reliable tools to predict moyamoya disease (MMD) patients at risk for hemorrhage could have significant value. The aim of this paper is to develop three machine learning classification algorithms to predict hemorrhage in moyamoya disease. Methods: Clinical data of consecutive MMD patients who were admitted to our hospital between 2009 and ...

Insights into the Dynamics and Binding Mechanisms of the Alkhumra Virus NS2B/NS3 Protease: A Molecular Dynamics Study

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
The ΔRMSF$\Delta {\rm RMSF}$ analysis reveals significant flexibility differences between free NS3 and the NS2B/NS3 complex, with notable deviations in specific regions. Key residues driving NS2B binding are identified, and the protonation state of catalytic serine affects oxyanion hole formation.

Endotherapy for Nonvariceal Upper Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage

open access: yesJournal of Digestive Endoscopy, 2021
Nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage (NVUGIH) is a common GI emergency with significant morbidity and mortality. Triaging cases on the basis of patient-related factors, restrictive blood transfusion strategy, and hemodynamic stabilization are ...

Weakly Supervised Learning Significantly Reduces the Number of Labels Required for Intracranial Hemorrhage Detection on Head CT [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Modern machine learning pipelines, in particular those based on deep learning (DL) models, require large amounts of labeled data. For classification problems, the most common learning paradigm consists of presenting labeled examples during training, thus providing strong supervision on what constitutes positive and negative samples.

The role of adrenocortical steroids in reversing established homograft rejection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1964
Renal homotransplantation was performed in 8 dogs. Antirejection therapy with azathioprine (BW 57-322, Imuran) was given in doses of 2 to 7.5 mg. per kilogram per day.

Advancing the Identification of Bioactive Molecules and the Construction of a Synergistic Drug Delivery System in Combating Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), while holistic and historically esteemed, faces challenges in “miracle cures” due to slow onset, long cycles, and difficulty controlling quality. This study obtains the active ingredients, glabridin (GLA) and puerarin (PUE), from Ge‐Gen Decoction (GGD), developing a safe and effective drug delivery system, GLA‐PUE ...

PHE-SICH-CT-IDS: A Benchmark CT Image Dataset for Evaluation Semantic Segmentation, Object Detection and Radiomic Feature Extraction of Perihematomal Edema in Spontaneous Intracerebral Hemorrhage [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Intracerebral hemorrhage is one of the diseases with the highest mortality and poorest prognosis worldwide. Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (SICH) typically presents acutely, prompt and expedited radiological examination is crucial for diagnosis, localization, and quantification of the hemorrhage.
