Optimizing Gastrointestinal Diagnostics: A CNN-Based Model for VCE Image Classification [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In recent years, the diagnosis of gastrointestinal (GI) diseases has advanced greatly with the advent of high-tech video capsule endoscopy (VCE) technology, which allows for non-invasive observation of the digestive system. The MisaHub Capsule Vision Challenge encourages the development of vendor-independent artificial intelligence models that can ...

Paclitaxel/Luteolin Coloaded Dual‐Functional Liposomes for Esophageal Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The authors develop a pH‐sensitive aptamer‐modified liposome (EA2‐PSL‐PTX/LUT) to illustrate a strategy for the precise delivery of combinational chemotherapeutic drugs for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) targeted therapy. EA2‐PSL‐PTX/LUT provides efficient co‐loading, tumor targeting, and controlled release of luteolin and paclitaxel ...

Orally Administered Functional Polyphenol‐Nanozyme‐Armored Probiotics for Enhanced Amelioration of Intestinal Inflammation and Microbiota Dysbiosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel polyphenol‐nanozyme‐armored probiotic system (ECA@EcN) for enhanced treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). By integrating chitosan‐modified epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG‐CS) with gold nanozymes, the system effectively scavenges ROS, improves probiotic viability, and restores gut microbiota balance.

3D Reconstruction of the Human Colon from Capsule Endoscope Video [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
As the number of people affected by diseases in the gastrointestinal system is ever-increasing, a higher demand on preventive screening is inevitable. This will significantly increase the workload on gastroenterologists. To help reduce the workload, tools from computer vision may be helpful. In this paper, we investigate the possibility of constructing
