Evaluation of the relationships between computed tomography features, pathological findings, and rrognostic risk assessment in gastrointestinal stromal tumors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Objectives The aim of this study was to correlate computed tomography (CT) findings with pathology in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). Methods A retrospective evaluation of CT images of 44 patients with GISTs was performed.

Mathematical models for order of mutation problem in myeloproliferative neoplasm: non-additivity and non-commutativity [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
In some patients of myeloproliferative neoplasm, two genetic mutations can be found: JAK2 V617F and TET2. When one mutation is present or not, the other mutation has different effects on regulating gene expressions. Besides, when both mutations are present, the order of occurrence might make a difference.

Laparoscopic resection of a gastrointestinal stromal tumour in a Meckel's diverticulum

open access: yesJournal of Minimal Access Surgery, 2019
A Meckel's diverticulum (MD) is a congenital abnormality of the gastrointestinal tract which is estimated to be present in 2% of the population. Gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GISTs) are rare, soft-tissue tumours which represent 0.1%–3% of all ...

Order-of-mutation effects on cancer progression: models for myeloproliferative neoplasm [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We develop a modeling framework for cancer progression that distinguishes the order of two possible mutations. Recent observations and information on myeloproliferative neoplasms are analyzed within our framework. In some patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms, two genetic mutations can be found, JAK2 V617F and TET2.

Primary Extra-gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor of Retroperitoneum

open access: yesClinical Medicine Insights: Oncology, 2012
Background Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal neoplasms of the gastrointestinal tract. More rarely neoplasms with histology and immunohistochemistry similar to GISTs may occur outside the gastrointestinal tract ...
