[ANMCO/AIGO Intersocietary consensus document: Gastroprotection in patients receiving antiplatelet and/or anticoagulant drugs].

Giornale italiano di cardiologia, 2020
Aspirin and P2Y12 receptor antagonists are widely used across the spectrum of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Gastrointestinal complications, including ulcer and bleeding, are relatively common during antiplatelet treatment and, therefore ...

Role of endogenous gastrin in gastroprotection

European Journal of Pharmacology, 1995
Gastrin has a potent influence on gastric acid secretion and mucosal growth but its role in mucosal integrity has been little studied. This study investigated in rats whether gastrin protects the gastric mucosa against the damage by 100% ethanol and what are the possible mechanisms of this protection.

AMPK activation promotes gastroprotection through mutual interaction with the gaseous mediators H2S, NO, and CO.

Nitric oxide, 2018
Activation of 5' adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) stimulates production of the gaseous mediators nitric oxide (NO) and carbon monoxide (CO), which are involved in mucosal defense and gastroprotection.

Copper-Derivatives and Gastroprotection

1997
The regulation of mucosal microcirculation is involved in maintaining gastric integrity. Limitations to microvascular perfusion, either by direct vasoconstriction or by removal of endogenous vasodilator tone, can lead to the development of mucosal damage, erosion or ulcerations (Whittle, 1981).

Gastroprotection by Nonprostaglandin Substances

1989
Cytoprotection is the term originally introduced into gastrointestinal (GI) pa-thophysiology by Robert to describe the unique feature of prostaglandins (PG) to prevent acute necrotic lesions of the GI mucosa at nonantisecretory doses. This phenomenon has been studied extensively, primarily in experimental animals, and two major categories of ...

Role of prostaglandins in gastroprotection.

Digestive diseases and sciences, 1998
Numerous agents increase gastric mucosal resistance against intraluminal ulcerogens. Although the precise mechanisms of gastroprotection are uncertain, various endogenous mediators involved in gastroprotective effects have been characterized. As prostaglandins exert potent protective effects and inhibition of prostaglandin formation abolishes "adaptive

[Gastroprotective properties of phytomedicine tiol].

Georgian medical news, 2008
Phitopreparation tiol is offered (5% fatty solution of Tea Leaf lipid complex) as a medicine. To determine gastroprotective effect of tiol generally accepted models of acute gastric ulcer were used: bitadion, atopanove and reserprinove stomach damages.

[Gastroprotective effect of luminal gastrin].

Fiziologicheskii zhurnal, 1992
Experiments on mongrel rats have revealed that ulceration of mucous membrane of the stomach achieved by vinculum of pylorus is formed only in 47% of animals. In this case luminal secretion of gastrin in the rats with unaffected mucous membrane was higher, while the serum secretion--lower than in the rats with injured one.
