Efficient Computations of Encodings for Quantum Error Correction

open access: yes, 1996
We show how, given any set of generators of the stabilizer of a quantum code, an efficient gate array that computes the codewords can be constructed.

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

A synchronous binary array divider [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
An asynchronous binary divider formed of an array of identical logic cells is described. Each cell includes a single bit binary subtractor and a selection gate. The array is connected to divisor, dividend, quotient and remainder registers.

Noise-resistant control for a spin qubit array

open access: yes, 2013
We develop a systematic method of performing corrected gate operations on an array of exchange-coupled singlet-triplet qubits in the presence of both fluctuating nuclear Overhauser field gradients and charge noise.

Quantum Emitters in Hexagonal Boron Nitride: Principles, Engineering and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Quantum emitters in hexagonal boron nitride have emerged as a promising candidate for quantum information science. This review examines the fundamentals of these quantum emitters, including their level structures, defect engineering, and their possible chemical structures.

A Computational Study of Vertical Partial Gate Carbon Nanotube FETs

open access: yes, 2007
A vertical partial gate carbon nanotube (CNT) field-effect transistor (FET), which is amenable to the vertical CNT growth process and offers the potential for a parallel CNT array channel, is simulated using a self-consistent atomistic approach.

A parallel Viterbi decoder for block cyclic and convolution codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present a parallel version of Viterbi's decoding procedure, for which we are able to demonstrate that the resultant task graph has restricted complexity in that the number of communications to or from any processor cannot exceed 4 for BCH codes.

Synchrotron Radiation for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Materials and interfaces underpin quantum technologies, with synchrotron and FEL methods key to understanding and optimizing them. Advances span superconducting and semiconducting qubits, 2D materials, and topological systems, where strain, defects, and interfaces govern performance.

Collapse of superconductivity in a hybrid tin-graphene Josephson junction array

open access: yes, 2014
When a Josephson junction array is built with hybrid superconductor/metal/superconductor junctions, a quantum phase transition from a superconducting to a two-dimensional (2D) metallic ground state is predicted to happen upon increasing the junction ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.
