Pressure‐Induced Drift Artifacts in Stretchable Liquid Metal ThinFilm Electrocardiogram Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A stretchable LM electrode integrated with a strain sensor enables in situ quantitative investigation of drift artifact and skin deformation. This reveals the significance of pressure‐induced drift artifact and its intimate relationship with the skin potential model.

Online Safety Under Multiple Constraints and Input Bounds Using gatekeeper: Theory and Applications

open access: yesIEEE Control Systems Letters
This letter presents an approach to guarantee online safety of a cyber-physical system under multiple state and input constraints. Our proposed framework, called gatekeeper, recursively guarantees the existence of an infinite-horizon trajectory that satisfies all constraints and system dynamics. Such trajectory is constructed using a backup controller,

Polymer‐Based Multiparameter Sensing Integrated Photonic Chip for Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A monolithic integrated photonic chip simultaneously measures blood glucose, pressure, temperature, ECG, and sweat glucose. Combining multiple Bragg grating sensors, Mach–Zehnder modulators, and an on–‐chip demodulation unit, this compact chip (1 cm × 0.5 cm) offers robust multiparameter detection.

The Gatekeeper Dynamic: Updating Lewin's Gatekeeping Theory for the Age of Digital Advertising Ecosystems

open access: yes
This paper introduces the term “Gatekeeper Dynamic” as a modern extension of Kurt Lewin’s Gatekeeping Theory, redefined for the context of digital advertising ecosystems. The concept explains how dominant platforms such as Google retain advertising spend within their own environments by controlling audience attention, data, and measurement tools.

Inhibition of KDEL Receptors Remodels the Tumor Microenvironment for T Cell Independent Tumor Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inhibition of KDELR2 in a small fraction of tumor cells generates sustainable immunogenic cell death conditions within the tumor microenvironment. These conditions promote the regression of tumors in a T cell independent manner. During regression, macrophages prime T cells that subsequently provide systemic protection against recurrence. The potency of

Peto’s “Paradox” and Six Degrees of Cancer Prevalence

open access: yesCells
Peto’s paradox and the epidemiologic observation of the average six degrees of tumor prevalence are studied and hypothetically solved. A simple consideration, Petho’s paradox challenges our intuitive understanding of cancer risk and prevalence.

Interacting Parallel Fluidic Hysterons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The parallel coupling of fluidic hysterons is introduced, establishing advanced functionalities in inflatable soft systems. A pressure–volume framework reveals how preset volumes Δv∗${\Delta }v^*$ tune nonlinear interactions between hysterons and actuation sequences without changing architecture. Experiments validate the predictions, opening new routes

Optical Windows for Transcranial Brain Imaging in Living Mice: Skull Thinning, Clearing, and Beyond

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Longitudinal, noninvasive in vivo imaging is crucial for studying brain physiology. Advances in transcranial optical windows and multiphoton microscopy have improved imaging depth, but their performance often deteriorates over time. This work investigated various transcranial window approaches and found that skull regrowth limits image quality.
