Quantum gravity from Weyl conformal geometry
We review recent developments in physical implications of Weyl conformal geometry. The associated Weyl quadratic gravity action is a gauge theory of the Weyl group of dilatations and Poincaré symmetry.

Dilaton from tractor and matter field from twistor
Conformal tractors and twistors can be obtained via gauge reduction of the conformal Cartan geometry, thanks to the dressing field method. Perhaps surprisingly, it is possible to reduce the gauge symmetry further still.

Dimensional oxidization on coset space
In the matrix model approaches of string/M theories, one starts from a generic symmetry gl(∞) to reproduce the space-time manifold. In this paper, we consider the generalization in which the space-time manifold emerges from a gauge symmetry algebra which

Instanton operators and symmetry enhancement in 5d supersymmetric quiver gauge theories [PDF]
A bstractWe consider general 5d SU(N ) quiver gauge theories whose nodes form an ADE Dynkin diagram of type G. Each node has SU(Ni) gauge group of general rank, Chern-Simons level κi and additional wi fundamentals.

Ni‐base superalloys produced using additive manufacturing (AM) have a different response to heat treatments when compared to their conventional counterparts. Due to such unpredictability, various alloys with industrial interest are currently overlooked in most prior AM research.

Conformal symmetry in quantum gravity
We study the problem of how to derive conformal symmetry in the framework of quantum gravity. We start with a generic gravitational theory which is invariant under both the general coordinate transformation (GCT) and Weyl transformation (or equivalently,

New observations in the BRST analysis of dynamical non-Abelian 2-form gauge theory
We generalize the usual gauge transformations connected with the 1-form gauge potential to the Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin (BRST) and anti-BRST symmetry transformations for the four (3+1)-dimensional (4D) topologically massive non-Abelian gauge theory that

Dark matter and dark force in the type-I inert 2HDM with local U(1)H gauge symmetry [PDF]
A bstractWe discuss dark matter (DM) physics in the Type-I inert two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM) with local U(1)H Higgs gauge symmetry, which is assigned to the extra Higgs doublet in order to avoid the Higgs-mediated flavor problems. In this gauged inert

Symmetries, Symmetry Breaking, Gauge Symmetries
The concepts of symmetry, symmetry breaking and gauge symmetries are discussed, their operational meaning being displayed by the observables {\em and} the (physical) states. For infinitely extended systems the states fall into physically disjoint {\em phases} characterized by their behavior at infinity or boundary conditions, encoded in the ground ...

The role of various alloying elements in face‐centered cubic aluminum on the barrier of a Shockley partial dislocation during its motion is presented. The study aims to understand how alloying atoms such as Mg, Si, and Zr affect the energy landscape for dislocation motion, thus influencing the solid solution hardening and softening in aluminum, which ...
