Gauge theory of Finance? [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics C, 1998
Some problems with the recent stimulating proposal of a ``Gauge Theory of Finance'' by Ilinski and collaborators are outlined. First, the derivation of the log-normal distribution is shown equivalent both in information and mathematical content to the ...

Gauge Freedom in Path Integrals in Abelian Gauge Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We extend gauge symmetry of Abelian gauge field to incorporate quantum gauge degrees of freedom. We twice apply the Harada--Tsutsui gauge recovery procedure to gauge-fixed theories. First, starting from the Faddeev--Popov path integral in the Landau gauge, we recover the gauge symmetry by introducing an additional field as an extended gauge degree of ...

Torsion in Gauge Theory [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2018
The potential conflict between torsion and gauge symmetry in the Riemann-Cartan curved space-time was noted by Kibble in his 1961 pioneering paper, and has since been discussed by many authors.

Goldfishing by gauge theory [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2006
A new solvable many-body problem of goldfish type is identified and used to revisit the connection among two different approaches to solvable dynamical systems. An isochronous variant of this model is identified and investigated.

On a class of gauge theories [PDF]

open access: yesJ.Math.Phys.48:073522,2007, 2007
We give a framework to describe gauge theory in which a nonassociative Moufang loop takes the place of the structure group. The structure of such gauge theory has many formal similarities with that of Yang-Mills theory. We extend the gauge invariance to this theory and construct an on-shell version of N=1 supersymmetric gauge theory.

Crystal-to-fracton tensor gauge theory dualities [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical review B, 2019
We demonstrate several explicit duality mappings between elasticity of two-dimensional crystals and fracton tensor gauge theories, expanding on recent works by two of the present authors. We begin by dualizing the quantum elasticity theory of an ordinary

Fractons from Vector Gauge Theory. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2019
Motivated by the prediction of fractonic topological defects in a quantum crystal, we utilize a reformulated elasticity duality to derive a description of a fracton phase in terms of coupled vector U(1) gauge theories.
