Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Statistical image fusion with generalised Gaussian and Alpha-Stable distributions [PDF]
This paper describes a new methodology for multimodal image fusion based on non-Gaussian statistical modelling of wavelet coefficients of the input images.

Enhancing Bubble Removal in Geometry‐Optimized Electrodes
3D‐printed lattice electrodes outperform stochastic foams in alkaline water electrolysis despite 20%–25% lower surface area. Straight flow channels generate Venturi‐like bubble entrainment, suppressing gas accumulation that renders foam interiors electrochemically inactive.

Responsible Gaussian Model: Matrix-Based Approximation of Gaussian Mixture Model
Mechanisms of deep learning are often viewed as a unclear structure and are difficult to interpret or control precisely using mathematical or engineering principles.

Adaptive detection of a Gaussian signal in Gaussian noise
Adaptive detection of a Swerling I–II type target in Gaussian noise with unknown covariance matrix is addressed in this paper. The most celebrated approach to this problem is Kelly's generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT), derived under the hypothesis of deterministic target amplitudes.

Stabilization over power-constrained parallel Gaussian channels [PDF]
This technical note is concerned with state-feedback stabilization of multi-input systems over parallel Gaussian channels subject to a total power constraint.

Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

Measuring Financial Contagion by Local Gaussian Correlation [PDF]
This paper examines financial contagion, that is, whether the cross-market linkages in financial markets increases after a shock to a country. We introduce the use of a new measure of local dependence (introduced by Hufthammer and Tjøstheim (2009)) to ...
