Velocity Differences as a Probe of Non--Gaussian Density Fields
We examine the multi--point velocity field for non--Gaussian models as a probe of non--Gaussian behavior. The two--point velocity correlation is not a useful indicator of a non--Gaussian density field, since it depends only on the power spectrum, even ...

Distributed Estimation of Gaussian Correlations [PDF]
We study a distributed estimation problem in which two remotely located parties, Alice and Bob, observe an unlimited number of i.i.d. samples corresponding to two different parts of a random vector. Alice can send $k$ bits on average to Bob, who in turn wants to estimate the cross-correlation matrix between the two parts of the vector.

Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Distribution function of persistent current
We introduce a variant of the replica trick within the nonlinear sigma model that allows calculating the distribution function of the persistent current. In the diffusive regime, a Gaussian distribution is derived.

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Product Entropy of Gaussian Distributions
0. Summary. This paper studies the product epsilon entropy of mean-continous Gaussian processes. That is, a given mean-continuous Gaussian process on the unit interval is expanded into its Karhulnen expansion. Along the kth eigenfunction axis, a partition by intervals of length Ek iS made, and the entropy of the resulting discrete distribution is noted.

Effect of Laser Deoxidation on Adhesive‐Bonded Aluminum in an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
This study investigates laser ablation of aluminum under oxygen‐free conditions. The goal is to produce oxide‐free substrates that enable improved adhesive bonding with epoxy. Optimized laser parameters (90% overlap, 300 µJ) combined with oxide‐free substrates result in the highest tensile strength of the adhesive bond.

Steering state statistics with output feedback
Consider a linear stochastic system whose initial state is a random vector with a specified Gaussian distribution. Such a distribution may represent a collection of particles abiding by the specified system dynamics. In recent publications, we have shown
