All‐Solution‐Processed HgTe Quantum Dot Photodetectors for Extended Short‐Wavelength Infrared Range Enhanced by Plasmonic ITO Nanocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
All‐solution‐processed, low‐cost extended short‐wavelength infrared photodetectors are realized by coupling colloidal HgTe quantum dots to plasmonic In2O3:Sn,F nanocrystals. Localized surface plasmon resonances boost and spectrally tailor light absorption between 1500 and 3000 nm, enabling responsivities above 40 A W−1.

Covariance-Based Measurement Selection Criterion for Gaussian-Based Algorithms

open access: yesEntropy, 2013
Process modeling by means of Gaussian-based algorithms often suffers from redundant information which usually increases the estimation computational complexity without significantly improving the estimation performance.

Microscopic Origin of Temperature‐Dependent Anisotropic Heat Transport in Ultrawide‐Bandgap Rutile GeO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rutile GeO2${\rm GeO}_{2}$ exhibits orientation‐dependent heat transport with temperature‐dependent anisotropy, showing higher cross‐plane thermal conductivity along [001] than along the equivalent in‐plane [100] and [010] directions. Temperature‐dependent TDTR measurements and first‐principles phonon calculations identify the microscopic phonon ...

A neighborhood regression approach for removing multiple types of noises

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2018
Image denoising is an important first step to provide cleaned images for follow-up tasks such as image segmentation and object recognition. Many image denoising filters have been proposed, with most of the filters focusing on one particular type of ...

Chemical Maturation Controls Bioavailability of Fetuin‐A‐Mineral Complexes in Biomineralization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The role of Fetuin‐A‐mineral complexes in matrix mineralization is unclear. Here, Fetuin‐A‐mineral complexes were found to exist in functionally distinct states that determine mineral bioavailability: chemically labile calciprotein monomers directly mineralize collagen fibrils, while chemically matured primary calciprotein particles require cellular ...

Maximum Correntropy Kalman Filter With State Constraints

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
For linear systems, the original Kalman filter under the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion is an optimal filter under a Gaussian assumption. However, when the signals follow non-Gaussian distributions, the performance of this filter deteriorates

Improved Anisotropic Gaussian Filters

open access: yesImage Analysis and Stereology
Elongated anisotropic Gaussian filters are used for the orientation estimation of fibers. In cases where computed tomography images are noisy, roughly resolved, and of low contrast, they are the method of choice even if being efficient only in virtual 2D slices.

Optimal Gaussian Filter for Effective Noise Filtering

open access: yesCoRR, 2014
In this paper we show that the knowledge of noise statistics contaminating a signal can be effectively used to choose an optimal Gaussian filter to eliminate noise. Very specifically, we show that the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) contaminating a signal can be filtered best by using a Gaussian filter of specific characteristics.

Synthesis of AgBiS2 and AgInS2 Based on Formation Energies in Sulfur‐Rich Reducing Flame

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐surface‐area AgInS2 and AgBiS2 nanoparticles were synthesized via enclosed flame spray pyrolysis by tuning flame conditions and formation energies to guide phase formation. Flame parameters were tuned to suppress oxides and enable pure sulfide phase growth.
