A convolution particle filtering approach for tracking elliptical extended objects [PDF]
This paper proposes a convolution particle filtering approach for extended object tracking. Convolution particle filters (CPFs) are likelihood free filters. They are based on convolution kernel probability density representation.

An MPEG-7 scheme for semantic content modelling and filtering of digital video
Part 5 of the MPEG-7 standard specifies Multimedia Description Schemes (MDS); that is, the format multimedia content models should conform to in order to ensure interoperability across multiple platforms and applications.

Improved Anisotropic Gaussian Filters
Elongated anisotropic Gaussian filters are used for the orientation estimation of fibers. In cases where computed tomography images are noisy, roughly resolved, and of low contrast, they are the method of choice even if being efficient only in virtual 2D slices.

Optimal Gaussian Filter for Effective Noise Filtering
In this paper we show that the knowledge of noise statistics contaminating a signal can be effectively used to choose an optimal Gaussian filter to eliminate noise. Very specifically, we show that the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) contaminating a signal can be filtered best by using a Gaussian filter of specific characteristics.

Non-Gaussian Filters for Nonlinear Continuous-Discrete Models
In this paper, we propose using an ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF) and particle filters (PFs) to obtain superior state estimation accuracy for nonlinear continuous-discrete models. We discretize the Ito-type stochastic differential system model by means of

Fast Parallel Gaussian Filter Based on Partial Sums
As a convolutional operation in a space domain, Gaussian filtering involves a large number of computational operations, a number that increases when the sizes of images and the kernel size also increase.
