Determining Relationship between Eye-Gaze Distribution and Comprehension of TV Programs

open access: yesThe Journal of The Institute of Image Information and Television Engineers, 2008
We investigated the relationship between viewer comprehension of a TV program and the direction of his or her gaze in a real experimental TV educational program involving 26 elementary schoolchildren. The aim was to observe the correlation between TV program comprehension and entropy of gaze distribution.

Associating cognitive abilities with naturalistic search behavior

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 76, Issue 4, Page 665-685, April 2025.
Abstract Differences in cognitive abilities affect search behaviors, but this has mostly been observed in laboratory experiments. There is limited research on how users search for information in real‐world, naturalistic settings and how real‐world search behaviors relate to cognitive abilities.

Acute toxic leucoencephalopathy following protonitazene ingestion

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background Distribution of illicit counterfeit alprazolam containing the highly potent synthetic opioid‐receptor agonist protonitazene recently resulted in a number of severe overdoses in Ireland. We report three cases that presented to our hospital, within 6 weeks of one another, following ingestion of illicitly‐sourced alprazolam.

When Watching Video, Many Saccades Are Curved and Deviate From a Velocity Profile Model

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2019
Commonly, saccades are thought to be ballistic eye movements, not modified during flight, with a straight path and a well-described velocity profile. However, they do not always follow a straight path and studies of saccade curvature have been reported ...

Gaze-weighted linear accumulator model.

open access: yes, 2019
In the GLAM, preference formation during the decision process is dependent on the allocation of visual gaze (A). For each item in the choice set, an average absolute decision signal is computed (dashed lines in A).
