Gaze tracking for smart consumer electronics

2014 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE), 2014
Real-time gaze tracking would be a key function for smart consumer electronics in the near future. But most gaze tacking system relies on strong IR light to enhance illumination, thus this results in poor user experience. In this paper, we present a high speed eye tracking system which is operated in a normal lighting condition.

The Mental Image Revealed by Gaze Tracking

Proceedings of the 2019 CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2019
Humans involuntarily move their eyes when retrieving an image from memory. This motion is often similar to actually observing the image. We suggest to exploit this behavior as a new modality in human computer interaction, using the motion of the eyes as a descriptor of the image.

Geometry Issues of a Gaze Tracking System

2007
One of the most confusing aspects that one meets as he introduces himself into gaze tracking is the variety, in terms of hardware equipment, of available systems providing solutions to the same matter, i.e. determining subject's gaze. Calibration permits adjusting trackers based on different hardware and image features to the subject.

A Multi-Modal Gaze Tracking Algorithm

2019 International Conference on Internet of Things (iThings) and IEEE Green Computing and Communications (GreenCom) and IEEE Cyber, Physical and Social Computing (CPSCom) and IEEE Smart Data (SmartData), 2019
Gaze tracking is an assistant system of human-computer interaction. Aiming at the problem of high misjudgment rate and long time-consuming of traditional iris location methods, this paper proposes a gaze tracking method based on human eye geometric characteristics to improve the tracking accuracy in 2D environment. Firstly, the human face is located by

Mobile 3D Gaze Tracking Calibration

2015 12th Conference on Computer and Robot Vision, 2015
We present a new calibration method to combine a mobile eye tracker with an external tracking system to obtain a 3D gaze vector. Our method captures calibration points of varying distances, pupil positions and head positions/orientations. With these data we can determine the eye position relative to the user's head position without separate manual eye ...

Identity Recognition through Human Gaze Tracking

2013 International Conference on Signal-Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems, 2013
The paper describes a system for the human machine interaction that is able to identify users according how she looks at the monitor while using a given interface. The system does not need invasive measurements that could limit the naturalness of her actions and detects the eyes movement from the estimation provided by a kinect camera.

Tracking Gaze of Patients with Visuospatial Neglect

Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation, 2002
Video eye-tracking appears to have great utility in the investigation and assessment of visuospatial neglect, and it may also have important benefits to intervention. Applications include the use of desktop eye-tracking to quantify neglect and its sensitivity to social cues, acquisition of eye-tracking data during performance of clinical and ...

Ubiquitous Head-Mounted Gaze Tracking

2019
Recently, gaze-based interfaces in stationary settings became a valid option, as remote eye trackers are easily available at a low price. However, making gaze-based interfaces ubiquitous remains an open challenge that cannot be resolved using remote approaches.

Study on the Calibration Method of Gaze Point in Gaze Tracking

2019
Aiming at the problem of poor robustness of gaze estimation in non-contact gaze tracking system, the gaze tracking system of single-camera multi-light source is improved. Based on the algorithm of cross-invariant gaze estimation, the traditional gaze-point calibration algorithm is improved.
