GBA mutations, glucosylceramide and Parkinson's disease
Current Opinion in Neurobiology, 2022Mutations in GBA, which encodes the lysosomal enzyme glucocerebrosidase, are the highest genetic risk factor for Parkinson's disease (PD), although the mechanistic link between GBA mutations and PD is unknown. An attractive hypothesis is that the lipid substrate of glucocerebrosidase, glucosylceramide, accumulates in patients with PD with a GBA ...

GBAS testbed development in Taiwan with a prototype GPS/GBAS receiver
GPS Solutions, 2006In this paper, we present the development of a local area differential GPS testbed of the ground-based augmentation system (GBAS) as the future airport navigation facility in the Taipei Flight Information Region (FIR) in Taiwan. The testbed is mainly a GBAS ground facility, which consists of a ground station, three GBAS receivers, and a VDL (VHF data ...

Spatial gradient monitor for GBAS
2018 IEEE/ION Position, Location and Navigation Symposium (PLANS), 2018In this paper, we develop a ground monitor capable of detecting anomalous signal-in-space(SIS) spatial gradients for rising, newly acquired, and re-acquired satellites in the Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS). These gradients can be caused by satellite orbit ephemeris faults and ionospheric fronts.

The significance of GBA for Parkinson's disease
Journal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, 2014AbstractFrom the first descriptions of Parkinson's disease (PD) and Gaucher's disease (GD) in the nineteenth century, it took more than 100 years to discover the link between the GBA gene and Parkinsonism. The observation that mutations in the GBA gene represent the most common genetic risk factor for PD so far only came into focus because of astute ...

The molecular diagnostics of 27 from 26 Ukrainian families has been performed. The common mutations in GBA gene (N370S, L444P and 84GG) accounted for up to 58 % of all cases: mutation N370S was detected in 42,3 % alleles, mutation L444P was observed in 15,4 % alleles and mutation 84GG was not found at all. The other mutations were: P178S, W184R and Rec

Ionospheric monitoring in a dual frequency GBAS
2016 IEEE Aerospace Conference, 2016This paper proposes a method for monitoring the difference in the ionosphere between a GBAS ground station and an airborne user from single frequency L1/E1 corrections and single frequency L5/E5a corrections. The absolute ionospheric delay at the ground station cannot be estimated from the corrections only.

GBAS Flight Trials for Multi-Constellation / Multi-Frequency GBAS Concept Validation
The International Technical Meeting of the The Institute of Navigation, 2016In recent publications the use of different Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) such as the Global Positioning System (GPS, USA), Glonass (Russia) or Galileo (Europe) for improving the Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) had been described [1][9].
