Standardizing GC–MS metabolomics
Journal of Chromatography B, 2008Metabolomics being the most recently introduced "omic" analytical platform is currently at its development phase. For the metabolomics to be broadly deployed to biological and clinical research and practice, issues regarding data validation and reproducibility need to be resolved.

Untargeted metabolomics refers to the high-throughput analysis of the metabolic state of a biological system (e.g., tissue, biological fluid, cell culture) based on the concentration profile of all measurable free low molecular weight metabolites. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), being a highly sensitive and high-throughput analytical ...

Isotopomer Analysis Using GC-MS
Metabolic Engineering, 1999Knowledge of the complete isotopomer distribution represents the ultimate amount of information on the labeling pattern of a metabolite. One technique for measuring the isotopomer distributions is the analysis of the multiplet intensities arising from the 13C-13C couplings in NMR spectroscopy.

Archaeological wood characterisation by PY/GC/MS, GC/MS, NMR and GPC techniques
Microchemical Journal, 2007Abstract The chemical characterisation of waterlogged archaeological wood is of paramount importance in terms of understanding not only the degradation processes of wood in artistic and archaeological objects but also the development of consolidation and conservation procedures.

Exploring Metabolome with GC/MS
2013Abstract The rapidly expanding field of metabolomics has been driven by major advances in analytical tools such as mass spectrometry and the corresponding hyphenated methods such as gas chromatography (GC–MS) but also in chemometrics and bioinformatics. The metabolomic field has been mainly developed in plant sciences and GC/MS was applied very early

The fast pyrolysis of biomass is considered as an attractive process for the thermochemical conversion of lignocellulosic biomass into liquids, gases and solids. The yield of liquid product, also known as bio-oil, and its quality can vary considerably, depending on the type of biomass, because of their different composition.
