Peak Alignment of Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry Data with Deep Learning
We present ChromAlignNet, a deep learning model for alignment of peaks in Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) data. In GC-MS data, a compound's retention time (RT) may not stay fixed across multiple chromatograms. To use GC-MS data for biomarker

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

MS and GC–MS Analytical Methods for On-Line Thermally Induced Evolved Gas Analysis (OLTI-EGA)
Mass spectrometry (MS) and coupled gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) are globally recognized as the primary techniques for the analysis of gases or vapors due to their selectivity, sensitivity, accuracy, and reproducibility.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Breath analysis by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and electronic nose to screen for pleural mesothelioma : a cross-sectional case-control study [PDF]
Rationale: Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is mainly caused by previous exposure to asbestos fibers and has a poor prognosis. Due to a long latency period between exposure and diagnosis, MPM incidence is expected to peak between 2020-2025. Screening

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Baitmet, a computational approach for GC–MS library-driven metabolite profiling [PDF]
Current computational tools for gas chromatography – mass spectrometry (GC – MS) metabolomics profiling do not focus on metabolite identification, that still remains as the entire workflow bottleneck and it relies on manual d ata reviewing.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
