Evaluation of global climate models for the simulation of precipitation and maximum and minimum temperatures at coarser and finer resolutions based on temporal and spatial assessment metrics in mainland of China

open access: yesJournal of Water and Climate Change, 2023
Many studies have evaluated the performance of multiple global climate models (GCMs) from a temporal or spatial perspective at finer resolution, but no study has evaluated the performance of individual GCMs at different resolutions and before and after ...

A Quantitative Lithium Inventory Framework for Anode‐Free Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A component‐resolved lithium inventory framework quantitatively tracks Li redistribution across the cell in anode‐free NMC622||Cu pouch cells throughout cycling. Three sequential degradation stages are identified: formation‐driven cathode Li depletion, midlife inactive Li0 accumulation, and late‐stage runaway SEI thickening. The cathode, as the sole Li

Effects of Refining on the Characteristics of Suri Cucumber (Cucumis melo L. var. reticulatus Naudin) Seed Oil [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Chemistry Research, 2020
The oil refining of Suri cucumber seed oil has been developed and tested. Crude oil was obtained by using soxhlet extraction in n-hexane, then was refined using chemical method by degumming and neutralization.

Interpretable Machine Learning for Bandgap Prediction and Descriptor‐Guided Design Rules of Phosphates

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
An explainable CatBoost model was trained to predict the bandgaps of 474 phosphate crystals based on composition and density descriptors. SHAP analysis identified two key variables—d‐electron‐count dispersion and atomic‐density dispersion—as the primary drivers of the model's predictions.

The effect of maize plants as a repellent for Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) on chili plants

open access: yesJurnal Entomologi Indonesia
Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) is crital pest of chili plants. Besides using chemical insecticides to control B. tabaci, the actions that can be taken for B. tabaci management include applying repellent compounds. This research aims to study the potential of

Microrobotic Catheterization of the Ophthalmic Artery for Targeted Treatment of Retinoblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A microrobotic platform is presented that allows teleoperated and autonomous navigation of flow‐driven magnetic microcatheters, MagFlow, into the ophthalmic artery for superselective intra‐arterial infusion of chemotherapy to treat retinoblastoma. Extensive benchtop validations with patient‐derived biomimetic phantoms under optical and fluoroscopic ...

High‐elevation endemic plants predicted to lose habitat from changing climate in Washington State

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise High‐elevation plants face unique challenges from potential climate change impacts that will likely require upslope migration into increasingly smaller suitable habitat. This situation is particularly acute for endemic species that by definition occupy small geographic ranges.

Catalytic Pyrolysis of Waste Polystyrene Over Fe–B Composite Catalyst for Enhanced Liquid Fuel Production

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Healthcare derived polystyrene waste represents a growing and under addressed fraction of plastic waste streams due to contamination risks and limited recyclability. This study aims to investigate the valorization of waste polystyrene foam through catalytic and noncatalytic pyrolysis pathways to evaluate product yield distribution and identify

Comparative Study of High Voltage Spinel∥Lithium Titanate Lithium‐ion Batteries in Ethylene Carbonate Free Electrolytes

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
FEC and sulfone‐based co‐solvents are investigated as EC‐free electrolytes for LNMO∥LTO cells. FEC‐containing electrolytes demonstrate enhanced electrochemical stability by stabilizing the CEI and SEI layers, mitigating transition metal migration. Conversely, sulfone electrolytes form thinner CEIs and thick, sulfur‐rich SEIs, which are less effective ...
