Solar modulation of the GCR flux and dose rate, observed in space between 1991 and 2019

Life Sciences in Space Research, 2020
The paper presents the solar modulation of the long-term galactic cosmic rays (GCR) flux and dose rates variations, observed during 14 space experiments by 10 Bulgarian build Liulin-type spectrometers (LTS) (Dachev et al., 2015a). They worked in near Earth space and in the interplanetary radiation environment between January 1991 and January 2019. Data

Heliospheric current sheet and GCR modulation in 1976–2007

Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics, 2009
The correlation between the GCR intensity and the tilt of the heliospheric current sheet (HCS) during three solar cycles is considered. The correlation coefficients for the periods of decreasing and increasing intensity have been calculated, and the time lag of the GCR variations delay relative to changes in the HCS tilt has been determined.

The effect of magnetic reconnection on ICME-related GCR modulation

2023
The large-scale magnetic structure of interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs) has been shown to cause temporary decreases in the galactic cosmic ray (GCR) flux measured in situ by spacecraft, known as Forbush decreases (Fds). In some ICMEs, the magnetic ejecta exhibits a magnetic flux rope structure; the strong magnetic field strength and closed ...

2D Stochastic Monte Carlo to evaluate the modulation of GCR for inner and outer solar system planets

Astroparticle, Particle and Space Physics, Detectors and Medical Physics Applications, 2008
We developed a 2D Stochastic Monte Carlo model for Cosmic Rays propagation in the Heliosphere. The model solves numerically the transport equation of particles in the heliosphere, including major processes affecting the heliospheric particle transport: diffusion, convection, adiabatic energy losses and drift of particles.
