Integrin αβ–Targeted Dynamic Contrast–Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging Using a Gadolinium-Loaded Polyethylene Gycol–Dendrimer–Cyclic RGD Conjugate to Evaluate Tumor Angiogenesis and to Assess Early Antiangiogenic Treatment Response in a Mouse Xenograft Tumor Model

open access: yesMolecular Imaging, 2012
The purpose of this study was to validate an integrin α v β 3 –targeted magnetic resonance contrast agent, PEG-G3-(Gd-DTPA) 6 -(cRGD-DTPA) 2 , for its ability to detect tumor angiogenesis and assess early response to antiangiogenic therapy using dynamic ...

Effects of gadolinium-based contrast agents on thyroid hormone receptor action and thyroid hormone-induced cerebellar Purkinje cell morphogenesis

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2016
Gadolinium (Gd)-based contrast agents (GBCAs) are used in diagnostic imaging to enhance the quality of magnetic resonance imaging or angiography. After intravenous injection, GBCAs can accumulate in the brain.

Evaluation of Phantom Doping Materials in Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To measure magnetic susceptibility (χ) with Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) and evaluate its repeatability using four phantom doping materials relevant to QSM applications. Methods A cylindrical phantom was constructed containing vials of agarose gel doped with two paramagnetic materials (ferritin, USPIO) and two diamagnetic ...

MR imaging of the gastrointestinal tract: value of Gd-DTPA [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Roentgenology, 1988
To determine the value of gadolinium-DTPA (Gd-DTPA) as an MR contrast material for the gastrointestinal tract, we obtained T1-, T2-, and proton-density-weighted MR scans of the abdomen in 20 volunteers before and after oral administration of the compound (10 ml/kg of a 0.5- or 1.0-mM solution).

Impact of Recanalization on Liver Hypertrophy after Portal Vein Embolization and the Role of Re‐Embolization

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 10, Issue 4, Page 1309-1319, July 2026.
This retrospective study of 249 patients undergoing hepatectomy after right portal vein embolization (PVE) demonstrated that major recanalization–defined as recanalization more than one segment within the embolized liver–was associated with impaired regeneration of the future liver remnant (FLR).

Curcumin Attenuates Aroclor 1254‐Induced Oxidative, Genotoxic, and Apoptotic Alterations in HepG2 Cells

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 7, July 2026.
In HepG2 cells, Aroclor 1254 induced oxidative stress, DNA damage, apoptosis, and mutagenicity; co‐treatment with curcumin restored antioxidant defenses (GSH/thiols; SOD, CAT, GPx, GR, TrxR), reduced ROS and comet/8‐OHdG readouts, and attenuated caspase activation, demonstrating curcumin's hepatoprotective and genoprotective modulation of PCB toxicity.
