Metabolic evaluation of children with global developmental delay [PDF]

open access: yesKorean Journal of Pediatrics, 2015
Global developmental delay (GDD) is a relatively common early-onset chronic neurological condition, which may have prenatal, perinatal, postnatal, or undetermined causes.

On balanced incomplete block designs with specified weak chromatic number

open access: yes, 2013
A weak $c$-colouring of a balanced incomplete block design (BIBD) is a colouring of the points of the design with $c$ colours in such a way that no block of the design has all of its vertices receive the same colour.

Optical Kerr Gating as a Strategy for Noise Reduction in Femtosecond Stimulated Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
We report an experimental approach, where an Optical Kerr gate is incorporated with Femtosecond Stimulated Raman Spectrometry (FSRS). The gate functions as a temporal filter that preferentially suppresses the FSRS inherent background. FSRS spectra are reported with the Kerr‐gated methodology with significantly improved SNR compared to the conventional ...

Dispersion managed mode-locking dynamics in a Ti:Sapphire laser

open access: yes, 2005
We present what is to our knowledge the most complete 1-D numerical analysis of the evolution and the propagation dynamics of an ultrashort laser pulse in a Ti:Sapphire laser oscillator.

Deterministic Fiber‐Optic Spectral Engineering Enables Three‐Color Multiplexed Two‐Photon Microscopy

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A simulation‐guided spectral‐engineering framework maps the nonlinear parameter space of a fiber laser platform to identify balanced three‐band excitation states. The resulting 960, 1080, and 1175 nm femtosecond pulses deliver nJ‐level energies for low‐cross‐talk chromatically multiplexed two‐photon microscopy.

Winter wheat yield responses to growing degree days: Long-term trends and adaptability in major producing areas of China

open access: yesEcological Indicators
Global warming significantly impacts wheat production, altering growing degree days (GDD), a key indicator of heat accumulation essential for crop growth.

Simulating Vocal Imitation in Infants, using a Growth Articulatory Model and Speech Robotics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In order to shed lights on the cognitive representations likely to underlie early vocal imitation, we tried to simulate Kuhl and Meltzoff's experiment (1996), using Bayesian robotics and a statistical model of the vocal tract that had been fitted to pre ...

CUL3‐Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder: Expanding the Prenatal Phenotype

open access: yesPrenatal Diagnosis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants of the CUL3 gene are known to cause a neurodevelopmental disorder with a partially described prenatal phenotype. This study further characterizes and expands the spectrum of prenatal sonographic findings associated with the disorder to improve prenatal diagnosis and counseling.

Anti-Scar Effects of Micropatterned Hydrogel after Glaucoma Drainage Device Implantation

open access: yesResearch
Excessive fibrosis is the primary factor for the failure of glaucoma drainage device (GDD) implantation. Thus, strategies to suppress scar formation in GDD implantation are crucial.
