The Geant4-based BABAR simulation

2003 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium. Conference Record (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37515), 2003
The simulation production code for the BABAR experiment is based on the Geant4 toolkit. In a typical e/sup +/e/sup -/ - /spl Upsi/(4s) = B/sup 0/B/sup 0/ event, between 30 and 60 tracks are produced in the generator and propagated through the detector, using decay, electromagnetic and hadronic processes provided by the Geant4 toolkit.

GEANT4 simulations of the DANCE array

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2007
Abstract The detector for advanced neutron capture experiments (DANCE) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is used for neutron capture cross sections measurements. Its high granularity of 160 BaF 2 detectors in a 4 π geometry allows for highly efficient detection of prompt γ-rays following a neutron capture. The performance of the detector was

Status of Geant4 simulations of calorimeters

Journal of Instrumentation, 2020
Geant4 is the main software tool for Monte Carlo simulations of the calorimeter response in high energy physics (HEP). In this work, we report recent developments of Geant4 physics models, which are available in version 10.6, released in December 2019.

Geant4 Simulation for LHC Radiation Monitoring

2006 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium Conference Record, 2006
Monitoring radiation background is a crucial task for the operation of LHC experiments. A project is in progress at CERN for the optimisation of the radiation monitors for LHC experiments. A simulation system based on Geant4, designed to assist the engineering optimisation of LHC radiation monitor detectors, is presented.

Fast shower simulation in Geant4

Detailed simulation of showers in calorimeters is often the most time-consuming part of computing for high energy physics (HEP) experiments. Instead of the expensive multi-step particle tracking computation, one can develop models that generate the energy deposits in the calorimeters according to a parameterised model.

Simulation of Gamma Detection Using GEANT4

2018
NaI(Tl) scintillation detector is simulated, and the energy deposited by incoming gamma photons is obtained using GEANT4. Then the scintillation process is separately simulated statistically using R, which is a software environment for statistical computing, to produce scintillation photons and the corresponding electrons in PMT.
