PCR-Based Detection of Cryptosporidium spp. and Enterocytozoon bieneusi in Farm-Raised and Free-Ranging Geese (Anser anser f. domestica) From Hainan Province of China: Natural Infection Rate and the Species or Genotype Distribution

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2019
Cryptosporidium spp. and Enterocytozoon bieneusi are two important zoonotic pathogens that can infect humans and a broad range of animal hosts. However, few studies have been conducted to study infection of the two pathogens in domestic geese until now ...

Incidence rate of angel wing and its effect on wing bone development and serum biochemical parameters in geese

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2021
: The first purpose of this study was to reveal the distribution of the angel wing (AW) of geese. Our data showed that the total incidence of AW was 6.67% in 150-day-old White Zhedong (ZD) geese, the occurrence of AW in left wing is higher than that in ...

HSP70 Interactome‐Mediated Proteolysis Targeting Chimera (HSP70‐PROTAC) for Ferroptosis‐Driven Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports a novel targeted protein degradation strategy termed “HSP70‐PROTAC” that recruits Hsc70 complex to a target protein for inducing degradation. Among them, GDAz‐3 exhibits effective GPX4 degradation activity via UPS/CMA processes, triggering ferroptosis‐driven anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo.

Effects of Dietary Fiber on Growth Performance, Fat Deposition, Fat Metabolism, and Expression of Lipoprotein Lipase Mrna in Two Breeds of Geese

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Poultry Science, 2021
The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary fiber on growth performance, fat deposition, serum lipids, fat metabolism, and mRNA (messenger RNA) expression of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) in Jilin white and Carlos geese.

Evolution of Multivalent Aptamer Corona for High‐Throughput Multiplexed Detection of Multiple Cancers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multivalent aptamer corona is evolved via established ProteoFish‐SELEX (systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment) for high‐throughput multiplexed detection of multiple cancers. Clinical validation using multivalent aptamer corona demonstrated high accuracy and specificity in multiplexed detection of ovarian, lung, and colorectal ...

Rearing Romagnola geese in vineyard: pasture and antioxidant intake, performance, carcass and meat quality

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2019
This study aimed to assess the effect of rearing system (intensive vs. free-range under vineyard) on the qualitative characteristics of goose meat. In particular, the integration of a goose raising system with an organic grape production was evaluated ...

Profiling of Integrin Isoforms on Lung‐Tropic Exosomes by Spectrally and Kinetically Multiplexed Single‐Molecule Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A spectrally and kinetically multiplexed single‐molecule imaging method is developed, which achieved simultaneous imaging of 12 exosomal proteins at an unparalleled single‐copy resolution. It is found that co‐occurrence of α6 integrin and the pairing β counterpart on single exosomes is essential for lung targeting, providing valuable information for ...

Long-Term Reciprocal Gene Flow in Wild and Domestic Geese Reveals Complex Domestication History

open access: yesbioRxiv, 2019
Hybridization has frequently been observed between wild and domestic species and can substantially impact genetic diversity of both counterparts. Geese show some of the highest levels of interspecific hybridization across all bird orders, and two of the ...
