High Ionic Seebeck Effect in Natural Leaves

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work reveals a role of natural leaves as thermoelectric biomaterials, capable of converting heat into electricity through the ionic Seebeck effect. The leaves exhibit significant and reproducible thermopower under both moderate temperature gradients and photothermal conditions.

Single‐Crystal Organic Field‐Effect Transistors Based on 5,15‐Bisaryl‐Tetrabenzoporphyrins: Synthesis, Structure, and Charge Transport Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study explores single‐crystal organic field‐effect transistors (SC‐OFETs) based on 5,15‐bisaryl‐tetrabenzoporphyrin derivatives. It highlights the impact of meso‐substituted groups on molecular packing and charge transport. Among the derivatives, C8Ph‐BP achieves the highest hole mobility (1.64 cm2 V−¹ s−¹) due to enhanced π‐stacking with ...

Design of Highly Efficient Nanomembranes Toward Direct Air Capture. Essential Role of Nanolayer Interface

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Novel nanometer‐thick membranes are developed from multi‐layers of siloxane and oxyethylene polymers. Such polymers can give record‐high CO2 permeability of 10000 GPU and satisfactory CO2/N2 selectivity of 50. This permeation is based on a kinetic process, and interface‐ controlled.

Sugars in Antimicrobial Polymers – The Impact of Sugar‐Lectin Binding in Membrane Interaction of Cationic Glycopolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Photo‐iniferter polymerization is used to create antimicrobial polymers which are decorated with sugar units by either copolymerization of glycomonomers or post‐polymerization functionalization. Although a selectivity based on lectin binding can not be observed, the presence of sugar leads to improved bioactivity based on the presence of neutral ...

Dynamic Interfacial Architectures: Cruciferin‐Stabilized Oil/Water Interfaces for Sustainable Emulsions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The molecular level understanding of proteins at oil‐water interfaces is deepened. Cruciferin assumes trimeric conformations at the interface, as in solution. Interfacial mobility is only marginally lower than in solution, indicating the chemical structure preserves a network.
