Preparation of polystyrene gels for gel permeation chromatography
ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー用ポリスチレンゲルを試作し,適用性につき論じた.ゲルは無溶媒改質ゲル,良溶媒改質ゲル,貧溶媒改質ゲルの三つのタイプに分類した.無溶媒改質ゲルは分子量の比較的小さい(数百以下),有機物,低分子ポリマーの分離に有効であった.溶媒改質ゲルにおいては,重合時に加える希釈剤の溶解度係数が生成ゲルの穴の大きさと,かなり密接な関係があることを見いだした.良溶媒改質ゲルは数百から数千の分子量を持つ高分子の分離に適している.貧溶媒(特にイソアミルアルコールートルエン)改質ゲルによって数千から106以上の分子量を持つ高分子の分離も可能であった.
