Integrated Green Biorefinery for the Production of Anthocyanins, Fermentable Sugars, and High Pure Lignin from Miscanthus × giganteus

Integrated production of pigments, fermentation sugars, and pure lignin has been investigated for the creation of profitable biorefinery developments. Choline chloride‐based natural deep eutectic solvents possess unique solvent capabilities to interact with plant cell wall components to disintegrate lignin‐carbohydrate complex.

Biodegradable Poly(butylene adipate‐co‐terephthalate)/Poly(lactic) Acid Mulch Film with Soy Waste Filler for Improved Biodegradation and Plant Growth

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
The study finds that mulch films made with poly(butylene adipate‐co‐terephthalate)/poly(lactic acid) and 10% soy waste degrade faster than those without soy. Plants grown with the soy‐containing films are 49% taller, suggesting that the soy acts as a biostimulant.

Electrodialysis of LiPF6 in Aqueous Solution for Wastewater Treatment in Hydrometallurgical Recycling of Lithium‐Ion Batteries

Hydrometallurgical recycling of lithium‐ion batteries produces wastewater containing PF6− and Li+, which must be removed and recovered, respectively. This study pioneers electrodialysis using anion exchange membrane and cation exchange membrane to separate PF6− and Li+.

Linking Metallacycle Transfer with Ring‐Opening Metathesis to Generate Polyacetylenes of Unprecedented Structure

A series of unusual low HOMO‐LUMO gap polyacetylenes bearing ring‐fused tellurophene and vinyl side chains were prepared by combining metallacycle transfer (Hf/p‐block element exchange) with ring‐opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) into a single modular and efficient protocol.
