Precise Side‐Chain Engineering Optimizes Polymer Pre‐Aggregation and Crystallinity for Efficient Organic Solar Cells With Minimized Non‐Radiative Energy Loss

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
This work presents a side‐chain engineering strategy to finely balance molecular aggregation and crystallinity in polymer donors, achieving low non‐radiative energy loss and enhanced charge transport. A record‐high PCE of 15.74% was attained using diester‐functionalized thieno[3,2‐b]thiophene moiety based polymers, showcasing their great promise for ...

Poly(p‐phenylene phosphaborene): A Modified Poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) with π‐Conjugated B═P Linkages

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An unprecedented poly(p‐phenylene phosphaborene) (BP‐PPV), derived from poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) (PPV) by substitution of the bridging C═C moieties by valence isoelectronic B═P units, has been prepared. The polymer and related monodisperse oligomers feature an effectively π‐conjugated backbone—involving the B═P bonds—and they show fluorescence from a

Functional Starch‐Based Conductive Hydrogel for Flexible Electronics: Design, Construction, and Applications

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
The natural biomass‐based hydrogel is critical to sustainable development of bioelectronic device. Our review introduces design, construction, and applications involved in fabricating starch‐based conductive materials. We also elucidate their synthesis mechanisms, and elaborate on the methods for imparting conductivity to starch and their application ...

Copper Single‐Atom Catalyst for Efficient C─S Coupling in Thioether Synthesis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We report the first single‐atom catalyst for C─S cross‐coupling, featuring atomically dispersed Cu sites on mesoporous carbon nitride. The catalyst enables efficient, selective, and recyclable thioether synthesis under mild conditions and on a gram scale.

Cellpose+, a Morphological Analysis Tool for Feature Extraction of Stained Cell Images

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We introduce Cellpose plus, a morphological and geometrical analysis tool for feature extraction of stained cell images built over Cellpose, a state‐of‐the‐art cell segmentation framework. We also introduce a dataset of DAPI and FITC stained cells to which our new method is applied.

Molecular Insights into the Formation and Functionalization of Carbon Nanodots: From Precursor Intermediates to Surface Chemistry Quantification

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Key molecular intermediates formed in the early stages of carbon nanodot (CND) formation from arginine and ethylenediamine were identified. The resulting CNDs were isolated and thoroughly characterized by several techniques. Multi‐detection gel permeation chromatography enabled absolute determination of the molecular weight, dispersity, and ...
