Investigation of the Role of Silicon in Donor Moiety in D‐π‐A Type Conjugated Polymers With Selenophene Bridges for Solar Cell Applications

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Device structure and J‐V curves of OPV cells based on polymers P1 and P2. ABSTRACT In this study, the influence of silicon incorporation into donor moieties of donor–acceptor (D–A) type conjugated polymers with selenophene π‐bridges for organic solar cell (OSC) applications was investigated.

Solid State Polymerization on Poly(Lactic Acid)‐Based Microcapsules: Process Parameters Adjustment in Order to Design Coumarin‐6 Encapsulation System

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This work emphasizes solid state polymerization (SSP) as a modification tool for altering the properties of PLA microcapsules (MCs). Therefore, the SSP process is optimized in order to avoid particle aggregation, and its kinetics is studied. Also, loaded MCs are subjected to SSP, resulting in changing release rate.

Reactive Oligomeric Compatibilizers: Chain Length and Additive Effects on PLA/PBAT Phase Interaction

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This study explores the development of tailored compatibilizers made from PLA and PBAT oligomers, enhanced with reactive additives like ESBO and adipic acid. By combining spectroscopic, thermal, and rheological analyses, the work demonstrates how molecular structure and additive selection control the phase behavior and mechanical properties of the ...

Enhanced CO2 Separation Performance of Matrimid 5218 Membrane by Incorporation of Poly(Arylene Ether Sulfone) Containing Phenylphosphine Oxide Group

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Schematic of the enhancement of CO2 separation by the PESPPO modified Matrimid 5218. ABSTRACT This study aims to synthesize and characterize poly(arylene ether sulfone) containing phenylphosphine oxide (PESPPO) group and incorporate it into Matrimid 5218 at different loadings to fabricate membranes for CO2 separation from CH4 and N2.
