On the Influence of Catalyst Mesopore Structure in the Catalytic Cracking of Polypropylene

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Catalytic cracking is a promising approach to convert polyolefin plastics into hydrocarbons. Herein, the effect of catalyst pore size in polypropylene cracking using amorphous silica–alumina with identical external acidity, but varying mesopore diameters and particle sizes, is isolated. Mesopore size has minimal effect on activity, indicating that high

Synthesis of Oligo‐Sulfonimidates by Exponential Growth via Sulfur‐Phenolate Exchange Reactions

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
A highly flexible iterative exponential growth strategy is used in combination with the sulfur‐phenolate exchange reaction to develop sequence‐defined oligosulfonimidates (16 mer). Combining this with sulfur‐fluorine exchange‐based iterative step growth, a bespoke 20 mer (Mw = 8.5 kDa) can be synthesized.

Ring‐opening metathesis polymerization‐Derived Organoborane Polymers as Strong Lewis Acids and Luminescent Materials

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Ring‐opening metathesis polymerization offers access to borane polymers with tunable Lewis acidity, environmental stability, and luminescence. The Lewis acid strength approaches that of B(C6F5)3 when R = Cl and Ar = C6F5, high stability is ensured with chlorophenyl or naphthyl pendent groups (Ar = ClPh, Np), and strong emission is achieved with a ...

Solid–Polymer–Electrolyte Interphase Inductively Formed by Surface Chemistry to Stabilize the High Ni Cathode in Sulfide‐Based All‐Solid‐State Lithium Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A homogeneous, compact, conformal solid–polymer–electrolyte (SPE) interphase is successfully fabricated on a high‐nickel cathode surface through in‐situ ring‐opening polymerization of cyclic organic molecules, initiated by the nucleophilic attack of surface alkaline species.
