Bacto agar-based gel polymer electrolyte

Ionics, 2011
The biopolymer of a Bacto agar-based gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) was prepared by addition of NaI and I2 as redox couple. The prepared GPE was characterized using impedance spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD) in order to determine its electrical and structural properties, respectively.

Polymer gel electrolytes for lithium batteries

Russian Chemical Reviews, 2012
The data on the most promising polymer gel electrolytes for lithium batteries published in the past decade are surveyed and described systematically. Gel electrolytes with matrices of polyethylene oxide, poly(vinylidene fluoride) and its copolymer with hexafluoropropylene, poly(methyl methacrylate), polyacrylonitrile, poly(vinyl chloride) and ...

PMMA Based Gel Polymer Electrolytes

2000
Gel polymer electrolytes based on PMMA and Li salts in PC have been developed for lithium electrochemistry in batteries and electrochromics (for references, see [1]). We have developed a method for their preparation by direct polymerization of PMMA with addition of Li salts in PC, and we have applied this principle to gel electrolytes containing ...

Proton Batteries with Hydroponics Gel as Gel Polymer Electrolyte

Electrochemical and Solid-State Letters, 2007
A proton conductor gel polymer electrolyte based on hydroponics gels (HPG) mixed with 10 M ammonium nitrate (NH 4 NO 3 ) was found to yield a very high electrical conductivity of 0.60 S cm -1 . The optimized composition, i.e., the HPG-10 M NH 4 NO 3 , was then used in our proton battery to make a Zn + ZnSO 4 ·7H 2 O/HPG-10 M NH 4 NO 3 /MnO 2 system ...

Gel Polymer Electrolyte for Aluminum-Ion Batteries

ECS Transactions, 2021
Aluminum-based batteries have potential advantages such as low flammability, low cost, and 3 electrons in the reaction that give them high charge capacity. Current research focuses on aluminum-ion batteries with carbon-derived cathodes that have achieved fast-charge capability and long-term stability; however, present some problems as: the ...

Gel Polymer Electrolytes

2019
An electrolyte is a major component that influences battery performance. The electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries can be mainly divided into liquid electrolyte, gel polymer electrolyte and solid electrolyte. The liquid electrolyte used in commercialized lithium-ion batteries is based on lithium salt dissolved in organic solvents.

Non-aqueous proton conducting polymer gel electrolytes

Electrochimica Acta, 2004
Abstract A new family of non-aqueous proton conducting polymer gel electrolytes containing different weak acids namely aromatic carboxylic acids have been prepared by using polyvinylidenefluoride (PVdF) and polyvinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene (PVdF-HFP) as the gelling polymers.

Flammability of Gel Polymer Electrolytes

ECS Meeting Abstracts
Gel polymer electrolytes are promising technology for next-generation lithium batteries, offering a balance between the high ionic conductivity of liquids and the safety of polymers. Although it is often suggested that gel polymer electrolytes are safer than traditional organic electrolytes, there is a lack of systematic research available on the ...

Studies on PVdF-based gel polymer electrolytes

Journal of Power Sources, 2000
Abstract A complex of polymer, plasticizer and lithium salts can be used as a solid gel polymer electrolyte in lightweight and rechargeable lithium batteries. Considerable research has been directed towards the development of a gel polymer with high conductivity at room temperature.

Performance evaluation of PVdF gel polymer electrolytes

Ionics, 2002
A series of gel polymer electrolytes containing PVdF as homo polymer, a mixture of 1:1 Ethylene Carbonate (EC) : Propylene Carbonate (PC) as plasticizer and lithium-bistrifluoromethane sulphone imide [imide — LiN (CF3SO2)2] has been developed. Amounts of polymer (PVdF), plasticizer and the imide lithium salt have been varied as a function of their ...
