Thermoreversible polymer gel electrolytes

Polymer, 1994
Abstract Thermoreversible polymer gel electrolytes with ionic conductivities in the region of 10−3 S cm−1 (even at −20°C) have been prepared from a variety of commercially available polymers and organic solvents by gel casting from high-temperature solutions at polymer/solvent ratios down to 10 90 .

Proton Batteries with Hydroponics Gel as Gel Polymer Electrolyte

Electrochemical and Solid-State Letters, 2007
A proton conductor gel polymer electrolyte based on hydroponics gels (HPG) mixed with 10 M ammonium nitrate (NH 4 NO 3 ) was found to yield a very high electrical conductivity of 0.60 S cm -1 . The optimized composition, i.e., the HPG-10 M NH 4 NO 3 , was then used in our proton battery to make a Zn + ZnSO 4 ·7H 2 O/HPG-10 M NH 4 NO 3 /MnO 2 system ...

Investigation of Ionic Conductive Behavior of SL-Based Gel Polymer Electrolyte and Interfacial Property of Li / Gel Polymer Electrolyte

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2021
Introduction Lithium-Sulfur (Li-S) batteries are attracting attention as high energy density rechargeable battery. Elemental sulfur (S8) has high theoretical capacity (1,672 mAhg-1) as positive electrode active material. However, S8 electrode is degraded by redox shuttle effect of lithium-polysulfide (Li2S n

Gel polymer electrolytes based on PMMA

Electrochimica Acta, 2001
New polymer gels (based on PMMA/PC) containing Li, Na, Mg, and Zn perchlorates were prepared. The conductivity of gels containing cations of smaller ionic radii (Li and Mg) is lower than that of the others.

Polymer gel electrolytes for electrochromic devices

Electrochimica Acta, 1999
Abstract Elastic and sticky polymer gel electrolytes were prepared by polymerisation of methacrylate resin to which solutions, containing LiBF 4 and [(C 2 H 5 ) 4 N]BF 4 in various ratios in PC, were added, keeping the ionic strength constant. A concentration cell containing two polymer samples and two equal LiHg x electrodes was used for the ...

Proton conducting polymer gel electrolytes

Solid State Ionics, 1999
Abstract Novel proton conducting gel electrolytes from poly(vinylidene fluoride)-dimethylformamide-H 3 PO 4 system are synthesized and characterized by impedance spectroscopy, infra-red spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. Highly conducting (5×10 −4 S/cm at 20°C) colorless polymeric membranes are obtained in a relatively narrow ...

Ionic Liquid‐Polymer Gel Electrolytes

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 1997
New rubbery gel electrolytes have been prepared from room temperature ionic liquids and poly(vinylidene fluoride)‐hexafluoropropylene copolymer [PVdF(HFP)]. The ionic liquids employed in these preparations were 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium salts of triflate and .

Polymer gel electrolytes for lithium batteries

Russian Chemical Reviews, 2012
The data on the most promising polymer gel electrolytes for lithium batteries published in the past decade are surveyed and described systematically. Gel electrolytes with matrices of polyethylene oxide, poly(vinylidene fluoride) and its copolymer with hexafluoropropylene, poly(methyl methacrylate), polyacrylonitrile, poly(vinyl chloride) and ...

Flammability of Gel Polymer Electrolytes

ECS Meeting Abstracts
Gel polymer electrolytes are promising technology for next-generation lithium batteries, offering a balance between the high ionic conductivity of liquids and the safety of polymers. Although it is often suggested that gel polymer electrolytes are safer than traditional organic electrolytes, there is a lack of systematic research available on the ...
