Gemini surfactant modified clays Effect of surfactant loading and spacer length

open access: yes, 2018
International audienceAromatic-containing gemini ammonium bromide surfactants with different spacer length and variable amounts were used to modify Na+-montmorillonite via ion exchange reaction. The resulting organoclays (OMt) were characterized in terms

A Decoy‐Receptor‐Armed Biomimetic Nanotherapeutic With Inherent Tropism for Conserved Pathogenic Macrophages for Treating Osteoarthritis and Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic doppelgänger nanosystem neutralizes extracellular inflammatory cytokines and silences intracellular pyroptosis, reprogramming pathogenic macrophages to attenuate both joint and spine degeneration. ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis (OA) and intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) are debilitating musculoskeletal disorders driven by shared ...

Adsorption Characteristics of Monomeric/Gemini Surfactant Mixtures at the Silica/Aqueous Solution Interface

open access: yes, 2016
The adsorption of the monomeric/gemini surfactant mixtures at the silica/aqueous solution interface has been characterized on the basis of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (QCM-D) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) data.

Root‐Inspired Microneedle Patch With Interlocked Rigid‐Soft Architecture for High Tissue‐Adaptiveness

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A root‐inspired microneedle array patch uses lattice‐based mechanical interlocking to unite rigid microneedles with a flexible substrate. The interlocked rigid–soft architecture improves interfacial bonding, supports stable adhesion on curved and wet tissues under dynamic motion, and provides a versatile platform for robust biointerfacing and future ...

From Magnetic Fibers to Paper Architectures: A Lightweight Strategy for Robust Low‐Frequency Microwave Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A scalable process converts para‐aramid fibers into soft‐magnetic building blocks via micrometer‐thick Fe0.64Ni0.36 (Invar‐type) coatings. Assembled into paper, they form a hierarchical conductive network whose tunable permeability enables thin, lightweight microwave absorption in the low‐frequency (S‐band) regime.

A Dispersant‐Driven Carbon‐Binder Domains Homogeneity in High‐Energy‐Density Electrodes for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A polar dispersant, aromatic‐functionalized polyacrylate (AFPA), enables the formation of a uniform CBD network by enhancing miscibility with PVDF and suppressing phase separation. This leads to α‐phase crystallization of PVDF and aligned CNT networks within the CBD, resulting in well‐connected structures that improve cohesion, electron/ion transport ...
