First report of maize striate mosaic virus (Geminiviridae) in sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) [PDF]
Maize striate mosaic virus (MSMV; genus Mastrevirus) has been previously reported in association with maize in Brazil. Here, we recovered the complete genome of a novel MSMV isolate from sugarcane via high-throughput sequencing. PCR assays with MSMV specific-primers confirmed the presence of this virus in sugarcane.

ICTV Virus Taxonomy Profile: Geminiviridae
The geminiviruses are a family of small, non-enveloped viruses with single-stranded, circular DNA genomes of 2500–5200 bases. Geminiviruses are transmitted by various types of insect (whiteflies, leafhoppers, treehoppers and aphids). Members of the genus Begomovirus are transmitted by whiteflies, those in the genera Becurtovirus, Curtovirus ...

Capulavirus and Grablovirus: two new genera in the family Geminiviridae [PDF]
Geminiviruses are plant-infecting single-stranded DNA viruses that occur in most parts of the world. Currently, there are seven genera within the family Geminiviridae (Becurtovirus, Begomovirus, Curtovirus, Eragrovirus, Mastrevirus, Topocuvirus and Turncurtovirus).

Dynamic genome organization and gene evolution by positive selection in geminivirus (Geminiviridae) [PDF]
Geminiviruses (Geminiviridae) are a diverse group of plant viruses differing from other known plant viruses in possessing circular, single-stranded DNA. Current classification divides the family into three subgroups, defined in part by genome organization, insect vector, and plant host range. Previous phylogenetic assessments of geminiviruses have used

ICTV Virus Taxonomy Profile: Geminiviridae 2021
The family Geminiviridae includes viruses with mono- or bipartite single-stranded, circular DNA genomes of 2.5-5.2 kb. They cause economically important diseases in most tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Geminiviruses infect dicot and monocot plants and are transmitted by insect vectors.

Establishment of five new genera in the family Geminiviridae: Citlodavirus, Maldovirus, Mulcrilevirus, Opunvirus, and Topilevirus [PDF]
Geminiviruses are plant-infecting, circular single-stranded DNA viruses that have a geminate virion morphology. These viruses infect both cultivated and non-cultivated monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants and have a wide geographical distribution.

Outbreak of Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (Family Geminiviridae) in Georgia [PDF]
Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) of the family Geminiviridae is a serious production constraint to tomato. In the southeastern United States the virus has been largely confined to Florida. The disease appeared in the southern most Georgia county (Decatur) in 1998, at an incidence rate of less than 1%.

A genome-wide pairwise-identity-based proposal for the classification of viruses in the genus Mastrevirus (family Geminiviridae) [PDF]
Recent advances in the ease with which the genomes of small circular single-stranded DNA viruses can be amplified, cloned, and sequenced have greatly accelerated the rate at which full genome sequences of mastreviruses (family Geminiviridae, genus Mastrevirus) are being deposited in public sequence databases.
