The effect of competition on the control of invading plant pathogens [PDF]
1. New invading pathogen strains must compete with endemic pathogen strains to emerge and spread. As disease control measures are often non-specific, i.e.

Tomato leaf curl New Delhi virus (ToLCNDV) causes significant yield and fruit quality losses in cucurbit crops, particularly in the Mediterranean region. We identified a new source of resistance to ToLCNDV in cucumber (accession ABS.PE.045) and mapped resistance to four genomic intervals in chromosomes 1, 2, 6, and 7.

Begomoviruses infecting common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) in production areas in Cuba
Viral diseases caused by begomoviruses are economically important for their depressing impact on common bean production in Cuba. Mayabeque is a Cuban province where this crop is significantly grown and affectations by Bean golden yellow mosaic virus ...

Structural Modeling and Validation of Rep protein of Begomovirus Strains (TLCBV and TYLCTHV) [PDF]
Homology modeling involves taking a known sequence with an unknown structure and mapping it against a known structure of one or several similar (homologous) proteins.

Begomovirus quasispecies adapt to hosts by exploring different sequence space without changing their consensus sequences [PDF]
Geminiviruses possess single-stranded circular DNA genomes that depend on cellular polymerases for replication in the host nucleus. In plant hosts, geminivirus populations behave as ensembles of mutant and recombinant genomes.
